Shirvan carpets: This type of carpets is knotted in the Shirvan area, in Azerbaijan of Persia and is considered to be one of the finest in the area of Caucasus,as far as the art of weaving is concerned. These carpets are thin, densely knotted and entirely made of wool. The patterns are usually geometrical although, animals and human figures may be depicted at several parts of the rug.
