Heriz : This type of carpet is knotted in the city of Heriz, which is located in the northwest of Iran, not very far from the known city of Tabriz (capital city of the Mongol empire). Their pattern is easily recognised, due to its central right-angled medallion, surrounded by large marked corner sections. They are usually large carpets made of rough yarn on cotton warp,with a rustic design. Due to their excellent quality of wool, they are highly durable and hard, thus they make an excellent selection for large hallways and dinning-rooms. Similar carpets are knotted in Mehravan and Georavan. They are suitable for domestic and public environments
