Bidjar: Bidjar city, which is located in western Iran, manufactures the most hard and durable rugs in the world. They are also known as "iron persian rugs", because craftsmen make the rug, while the wool is still wet. These carpets are thick, tight and very heavy, with excellent wool quality. The typical pattern is a diamond, placed in the center of the carpet, which surrounds a flower, extended at the four edges. The dominant colors are red and dark blue, black and a little green, given in some details. Because of their durability, these rugs can easily be installed in public places such as hotel receptions. The most refined and expensive category of Bijar carpets is called ‘Takab’, where sometimes silk is used, combined with wool.
